If there’s one thing life has taught us, it’s that external factors are unpredictable.
Jobs come and go, finances fluctuate, and the world around us changes in ways we can’t always control.

Introduction
This year, 2024, has been nothing short of amazing for me. It was also incredibly challenging. I launched my blog, decided to leave my corporate job with toxic management, and found myself feeling truly content, confident that I can achieve anything I desire. Not because I’m always strong and confident, but because it’s my birthright.
As this year went by, I embodied some very important values, reinforced by daily reminders:
- Life happens for me.
- What’s meant for me won’t miss me.
- Rejection is protection and redirection.
I believed in these and lived by them unapologetically. However, there was one crucial aspect I hadn’t applied in my life before, and this year showed me it’s the key to everything. Taking inspired actions.
Taking Inspired Actions
Because even if you’re on the right track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there.
So, I worked toward my goals, invested both time and money, and gave it my all. While I kept telling myself it could be easy, and I chose to believe it could be easy, it didn’t always feel that way.
But I didn’t mind. I persevered because I had a clear goal and a strong why. I’ve already talked about how important your why is, so I won’t repeat myself here. What I want to focus on instead is the importance of investment.
The Truth About Investing in Yourself
When we heard the word “investment”, our minds often go straight to money. And for many of is, the thought of investing significant time or money in ourselves can feel overwhelming.
I get it. I used to feel the same way. Spending $300 on a course once seemed like madness to me. But this year, I raised my financial minimum for personal investments and spend more than I ever thought I would on courses, books, tools, and platforms for my blog.
This year, I have invested around 1400 dollars in my education – meaning courses, audiobooks, books, tools that help me with my blog, platforms, and other things.
Here’s the kicker: I haven’t yet seen a financial return on these investments, but the return in terms of of personal growth? It’s been “priceless”.
So the thing is, you need to invest in something you are passionate about, not something you believe will simply bring you success or money. You need to be super honest with yourself because when you follow your passion, money always follows.
Why Focus on Potential
Your potential is your ability to grow, adapt, and achieve in ways that feel meaningful to you. It’s the toolkit you carry with you wherever you go. Unlike material possessions or even professional titles, your potential isn’t something that can be lost or taken. Instead, it’s something you nurture and develop over time.
Here’s the best part: investing in your potential doesn’t just impact your career or personal goals. It also helps you build confidence, resilience, and a sense of purpose – qualities that improve your overall quality of life.
Create Something of Your Own
There’s something incredibly empowering about creating something from the ground up. Whether it’s starting a side hustle, writing a book, launching a blog, or designing a product, creating something that is yours gives you a sense of ownership and purpose.
Why This Matters:
Building something of your own not only generates a sense of accomplishment but also gives you an opportunity to earn, grow, and express yourself authentically.
Step Outside Your Comfort Zone
True growth happens when you challenge yourself to do things that feel unfamiliar or even a little scary. Join that public speaking group, sign up for that difficult class, or finally pitch that idea you’ve been holding onto.
The Science:
Getting outside your comfort zone activates your brain’s learning centers and helps you build resilience. Plus, the more you face your fears, the less power they have over you.
A Quick Note on Mental and Physical Health
Of course, none of this is possible without a solid foundation in mental and physical health. If you’re looking for ways to prioritize those areas, check out my posts on mental health and physical health.
Remember: a healthy mind and body are the fuel for unlocking your full potential.
The Ripple Effect of Investing in Yourself
When you invest in building your potential, the benefits extend far beyond you. You show up stronger in your relationships, more confident in your career, and more fulfilled in your daily life.
Here’s the truth: investing in material things might bring temporary satisfaction, but investing in yourself? That’s lifelong. You’re creating something no one can take away – a version of you that’s wiser, more skilled, and more prepared to face whatever life throws your way.
How to Get Started?
I’l be honest – doing something for just 10 minutes a day doesn’t do the magic for me. What works for me instead is creating an outline or a list of things I want to try achieve. I brainstorm, narrow it down, and focus one thing at a time. A wonderful help for me was reading The One Thing by Gary Keller.
My tip: Don’t jump from apples to oranges – focus on one area for a month. For example, this month I’l dive into learning SEO. Next month, I’ll shift my focus to mastering another technique.
The key is consistency and focus. You don’t have to do everything at once – just take that first step towards building something for yourself.
Remember, investing in yourself doesn’t have to mean spending thousands of dollars if you don’t want to or can’t right now. There are so many free or low-cost resources available to help you grow – from online courses and audiobooks to free tools and communities.
