Habit 1: Practice Gratitude Daily

Gratitude can transform your life in countless ways. By focusing on the good stuff you have, instead of worrying about what you don’t have, it can really make a difference. This simple practice has been scientifically proven to boost mental health, reduce stress, and increase overall happiness.
Studies have shown that expressing gratitude activates the hypothalamus, the part of the brain that regulates stress, and increases the production of dopamine and serotonin, the neurotransmitters responsible for feelings of pleasure and well-being.
Basically, being thankful helps your brain focus on the good things and rebound from tough times.
Incorporating gratitude into your daily life is easier than you might think.
One of my favorite methods is keeping a gratitude journal. Every evening, I take a few minutes to write down what I’m grateful for that day, what was the highlight of my day and something I have learnt.
Just to be clear, these don’t have to be big things – they can be as simple as having a meaningful conversation, watching a beautiful sunset or tor taking a few minutes during the day to breathe mindfully. It’s funny how writing this stuff down gives it a whole new meaning.
Habit 2: Prioritise Self-Care

In today’s world, it’s all too easy to neglect the most important person in your world: you. Self-care is not a luxury; it’s a necessity for maintaining your physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
As one of my favourite quote says: the grass is always greener where you water it.
When you neglect self-care, you may find yourself feeling drained, stressed, and unable to cope with day to day life. By prioritizing self-care, you’re investing in yourself and ensuring that you have the resilience and energy to tackle whatever comes your way.
So, what does self-care look like?
It can be as simple as taking a relaxing bath after a long day, reading a book that transports you to another world, or engaging in a hobby that brings you joy. It’s about carving out “me time” in your schedule and treating it as a non-negotiable commitment to yourself.
For example, some of habits I swear by are Yoga, Pilates, singing and dancing as often as possible, breathing with meditation music and journaling is a must. These practices not only promote physical well-being but also foster a positive healthy lifestyle by reducing stress and promoting emotional balance.
Creating a personalised self-care plan is the best way to make it a lasting habit. Yes, it will take up some of your time, but this is YOUR time – the crucial moments you need to feel completely and unapologetically yourself. Find activities that truly bring you happiness, and make sure they’re things you’re eager to do and can realistically incorporate into your life.
Habit 3: Cultivate Mindfulness

Mindfulness is the practice of being fully present and aware in the current moment, and here comes the cherry on the top: without judgment. It’s about observing your thoughts, feelings, and surroundings with a sense of curiosity and acceptance. By cultivating mindfulness, you can reduce stress, increase self-awareness, and improve your overall well-being.
Tips for practicing mindfulness are:
- Set aside a few minutes each day to simply sit with your thoughts, free from distractions.
- When having a conversation, truly listen and be present with the other person.
- Stay off your phone whenever possible —personally, I avoid social media after work and before work to ensure my free time is peaceful and free from outside distractions.
- Make an effort to understand other people’s perspectives and approach interactions with empathy.
- Focus on your breathing —take slow, deep breaths and notice the sensation of the air moving in and out. Sometimes, without even realizing it, I hold a lot of tension in my shoulders or chest when overwhelmed, so remembering this rule always helps me.

Remember that even your goals might start to feel out of place or unexciting—which happens because you evolve and grow. They’re simply no longer aligned with who you are. This is a good thing. It means you are on the right path.
What seems crucial to you now may not hold the same importance in the future. But the truth is that with clear, meaningful goals and a solid action plan, you’ll be well on your way to transforming your life and achieving your dreams.

Having supportive, heathy relationships in your life can make a big difference in your overall well-being and success. The people who lift you up, make you laugh, and believe in you unconditionally are invaluable. Nurturing these relationships is extremely beneficial and 100% worth the effort. Cherish and cultivate the connections you have with those who encourage you and make your life better.
But how do you build and maintain these healthy relationships?
I’m no relationship expert, but if you asked me, there are several simple things that create the deepest, strongest, and most genuine friendships.
- Listen, appreciate, set boundaries.
- Be honest, show up when it matters, and celebrate each other’s wins.
- Respect differences, communicate openly, and forgive when things get tough.
- Small acts of kindness go a long way, and never underestimate the power of simply being there—even in silence.
Friendship isn’t about perfection, but about being real, supportive, and growing together.
One tip here; you don’t always need to understand others’ perspectives or opinions, but show that you respect them anyway, and most importantly, mean it.
Take a hard look at your relationships. Do they energize and uplift you or leave you feeling drained and burdened?
